Piro Rios, Humacao, Puerto Rico

Piro is active in the international Mail Art community. What a wonderful vintage print with color added. I love seeing the old time cycling costumes. Imagine women cycling with such long skirts. Perhaps, he'll tell us the technique that he used to add the color.

Thanks, Piro.

Heleen de Vaan, Amstelveen, Nederland

Heleen has sent a lovely photograph of a bicycle in the snow, which she took several years ago. She relates the story of sending the first of these cards to someone on Postcrossing, who liked elephants. And I, too, had sent the person an elephant card, or two. She informed me that he'd passed away, but I'm happy that we can post this card and think about him.

Thanks for the card and the memory, Heleen.

B Kapp, Chicago, Illinois, USA

B Kapp has sent us more of her wonderful Mail Art.

I enjoy the way she melds the images and the text and adds her playful dots.

Thanks, B Kapp, for continuing to support this exhibit.

Fleur Helsingor, Oakland, California, USA

This is from one of my long-time Mail Art acquaintances. She found this shop sign on a stroll around Oakland. How perfect for this mail art theme.

Thanks, Fleur.

Ronni Saunders, Richmond, VA, USA

Ronni made this collage of bicycle wheels. I like the composition. Quite spatial and capturing the energy of bicycle racing.

On this photo, Ronni notes that she found it on the Highline in NYC.   The photographer is Douglas McRobb. His work can be seen on this website www.douglasmcrobb.art-trope.com

Paul Amyes, Carlton, Tasmania

Two very interesting photographs with text arrived
from Tasmania.

They show a variety of bicycles and bicyclists.

The accompanying note from the photographer, Paul Amyes, indicates that he's a visual journalist, a writer and an artist.  Yes, indeed!

Thanks for the entries, Paul.

You can see more about what he does HERE.

Lucky Pierre, Charleston, SC, USA

Lucky Pierre sent us this photo taken at a bike race in Seattle - circa 1984.

He, also, writes "looks like I was shooting infra-red film on this day."

Well, all I can say is that this is a very exciting photo and I'm glad he shared it with us for this exhibit.

And he used a postage stamp with a bicycle rider on it! How perfect is that. Good find, LP.

Scroll down to the first entry on this blog to find out how you, too, can enter this Mail Art exhibit.

Kelly Gorman, Atlanta, Georgia, USA

Kelly gave this a title: "Unusual connection"  I'm very fond of other people's snapshots. The narrative is left open for us to fill in, and with this title, it's so cryptic.

Thanks, Kelly, for submitting Mail Art to this call.
